Philosophy

I meet my clients as a clinician and a sister in motherhood. It is my aim to help with breast-feeding issues, and create a moment to celebrate the beginning of a journey with a new child.

Modern living truncates the traditions that celebrate mother and newborn care. Many of these customs existed to help moms recuperate from pregnancy, labor, and the demands of an infant. The infant too needs time to process his or her entry into the world, while getting used to breathing and eating. Central to this transition is breastfeeding.

The art of breast-feeding was once passed down from generation to generation. Now we are often hundreds of miles away from our family. Without the exposure and normalizing of the breastfeeding process, including its challenges and simplicity, women are often (understandably) intimidated.

My goal for my clients is to demystify the art of breastfeeding, to aid in the healing process and to assist women to listen to their body and their baby.
